Cisco - Shortcut Commands for Router/Switch


Q. What are the shortcut commands that I can use when working with my Cisco router? I don't use mouse when accessing my router. 

A. Here are the shortcut commands that you can use while working with your Cisco router:

Ctrl + A --moves cursor to the Beginning of the line
Ctrl + E --moves cursor to the End of the line
Ctrl + B --moves Back one character
Ctrl + F --moves Forward one character
Ctrl + D --Deletes a single character
Ctrl + R --Redisplays a line
Ctrl + U --erases a line
Ctrl + W --erases a Word
Ctrl + Z --ends configuration mode
Ctrl + P --shows last command entered
Ctrl + N --shows previous command entered

Esc + B --moves Back one word
Esc + F --moves Forward one word

Backspace --deletes a single character
Tab --finishes typing a command for you
Up Arrow --same function with Ctrl + P
Down Arrow --same function with Ctrl + N
